Health and Safety Policy

Our goal is to ensure that our of our employees, clients, colleagues and members of the public within our realm of influence are unharmed by their association with McLean Historic Timber and Masonry Conservation.

  • In order to maintain this, colleagues - employees, subcontractors and any other working with McLean Historic Timber and Masonry Conservation - are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that does not put others at risk, either by their actions or inactions.
  • Colleagues are expected to comply with all applicable Health and Safety rules.
  • Health and Safety is the responsibility of supervisors. All supervisors are responsible to:
    • Ensure that all colleagues are fully aware of their legal and contractual responsibilities
    • Ensure that all colleagues conduct themselves in a manner conducive to the principles of Health and Safety
    • Ensure that all colleagues are appropriately trained for the task they are performing
    • Ensure that all colleagues are are managed in a professional and safe manner
    • Ensure that all colleagues wear the appropriate personal protection equipment when appropriate
    • Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
    • Ensure safe handling and use of substances
  • All business meetings are to have Health and Safety improvement and feedback on the agenda
  • Colleagues should report any observed deficiencies in Health and Safety procedures to a supervisor for resolution. Should a supervisor be unavailable, the colleague is to take reasonable and practical measure to resolve the situation and report the situation to a supervisor at the earliest available opportunity
  • This policy to be included as part of the employee induction and within company premises
  • Any incident involving lost time, or injured parties is to be brought to the attention of the directors within 24 hours
  • This policy shall be reviewed annually.
